Meet the next-generation of the Nissan GT-R. It’s more refined and agile than ever, pushing the boundaries of how a supercar should perform.
And it’s now available to test drive at South West Nissan.
As soon as your eyes land on the GT-R, you know it’s a true supercar packed full of personality. It still has the iconic circular tailgate lights, but the front has been redesigned to make more of a statement. Its grille has been given a size overhaul, as has the front splitter and bumper, which is built to reduce drag. You’ll notice how close the GT-R sits to the ground, making it ultra-sporty to look at and to drive. If you want to make a statement with your motor, choose the fierce Katsura Orange body paint.
Seamlessly crafted – that’s the aim of the GT-R, and exactly what you get. From the ergonomic layout to the carbon fibre finish on the central console and the heated leather sports seats, every item has been designed and created with care and attention. If you’re unacquainted with the previous GT-R, you may be surprised to find that it has two individual rear seats that are, again, crafted for luxury. A Bose® audio system with 11 speakers makes sure that whatever song you play will be heard loud and clear above the roar of the engine.
At its heart sits a 3.8-litre V6 24-valve twin turbo charged powertrain. It’s received many awards for its ingenuity, and Nissan has made it more powerful than ever, packing a formidable 562bhp. It boasts the world’s first independent rear transaxle on an All-Wheel Drive vehicle – you get a totally unique experience in the GT-R. Flick over to the R-Mode
Far from being a back-to-basics car, the GT-R is jam-packed with technology even at the entry level. You get all the usual entertainment you expect along with NissanConnect. This clever piece of kit includes a reversing camera, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a metre that displays vehicle settings and performance data. You use all of these systems through an eight-inch touchscreen that’s embedded into the dashboard.
Safety and security
Nissan has crafted a shell that protects its passengers in the event of a collision with crumple zones and hood buckling creases. Electronic Traction Control and Vehicle Dynamic Control help you to maintain a steady drive even when you’re travelling at speed around corners. It comes with the Nissan Anti-Theft System Immobiliser for added security.
