New Nissan Rogue / X-Trail Prototype Spotted

South West Nissan has got exciting news that will please SUV fans everywhere: the new prototype for the wholy redesigned Nissan Rogue - or X-Trail as it is badged in the European market - has been seen out and about being tested.

This will be the third iteration in five years of the hugely popular crossover, a car that has taken the family SUV market by storm. It was last redesigned in 2014 with increased space and family-friendly features that really cemented its market popularity. There were some further tweaks in 2017 and now it’s back with a whole new design.

When spotted, it was heavily camouflaged to keep all the new features under wraps but experts are expecting to see influences from the Xmotion concept, which was released in 2018. Nissan’s V-motion grille was also identifiable, but overall the model looks to be taking on a sportier edge with a wider setting and horizontal slats for a dynamic look.

The Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance share a Common Module Family (CMF) design: a new approach to engineering based on a modular platform, which debuted in the current X-Trail in 2014. The new design comes with several powertrain options for complete customer satisfaction. The inline-4 units paired with continuously variable transmissions are available with either front- or all-wheel-drive configurations. Unfortunately though, a hybrid option will not be available in the new release, which may come as a surprise to some.

So when can you get your hands on the new Nissan X-Trail? Well, we are expecting the latest model to be released in around six to twelve months, which means South West Nissan will be delivering them to customers in late 2020.
