Nissan Scoops What Car? Awards for the Qashqai and Pulsar
Fending off competition and cementing its position as a leading marque within the automobile industry, Nissan yet again stole the limelight at the annual What Car? Awards in London, taking the number one spot in multiple categories.
While the stylish, reliable and family-friendly Qashqai crossover – renowned for its dominant on-road presence and head-turning physique – won the title of Best Small SUV for the second year running, the five-door Nissan Pulsar, designed for comfort and packed with technology, was given the Best Buy Family Car under £16,000 accolade. Dominating the highly competitive Family Car category, the Pulsar was recognised for its smart features and ability to slip into everyday life with ease.
Speaking of the reasons behind the awards, Jim Holder, Editor of What Car?, said: “The Qashqai was chosen on the strength of its overall offering in terms of practicality, refinement and standard equipment. As impressive as the new Citroen and Range Rover are, neither really comes close to dethroning the Qashqai as our top Small SUV.
"The Pulsar meanwhile delivers incredible value with the entry grade Visia. It's hard to think of any other model in this price bracket that offers such a complete package."
The Pulsar 1.2 DIG-T115 offers a range of top-notch features and benefits at entry-level. Talking points include air-conditioning, Bluetooth for improved communication, electric windows throughout, striking 16-inch alloy wheels, as well as an advanced safety suite made up of six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring and electronic stability control.
As a firm favourite, the Qashqai’s impressive range now features the n-tec+ model which puts safety and comfort first and includes standout features such as an Around View Monitor (AVM), Forward Emergency Brake (FEB), and a panoramic roof.
