Big news from Nissan HQ – the much-loved Micra is making a grand return, and this time it’s all-electric. Yep, that cheeky city car we all know and love is being reimagined for a new generation, and it’s arriving in 2025 with a bold new look and an eco-friendly heart.

So, what’s the lowdown?

Designed right here in the UK at Nissan Design Europe in Paddington, London, the new Micra stays true to its roots – compact, stylish, and full of character – but adds a whole load of electric flair. It’s built on the new AmpR Small platform (shared with Renault’s upcoming R5 EV), meaning it’s not just a pretty face. This thing is proper smart under the skin too.

You'll have two battery options to choose from: a zippy 40kWh pack or a longer-range 52kWh version. The top spec offers over 248 miles of range – not bad for a car made for the urban jungle. Whether you’re nipping to the shops, darting across town for meetings, or off on a little weekend escape, the new Micra’s got your back.

And the best bit? It’s going to be built at the Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France – part of a bigger push from Nissan to ramp up EV production in Europe.

Even better news? The all-new electric Micra will be arriving at all South West Nissan dealerships, including Wellington, Exeter, Sidmouth, and Barnstaple. So whether you’re local to the coast or tucked inland, your next test drive isn’t far off.

The return of the Micra is just the beginning too. Nissan’s going all in on electrification, with a new LEAF and Juke EV also on the way. It's a bold plan, and we’re totally here for it.

Expect the all-new electric Micra to hit roads before the end of 2025. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for updates – and maybe even putting our names down on the waiting list. Because honestly, who wouldn't want a Micra with a silent purr and zero emissions?
